Where it came from
The LEGO Creator Expert London Bus, set number 10258, was released in 2017 as a detailed tribute to the iconic AEC Routemaster. Developed by the LEGO design team to capture the quintessential aesthetic of British transit, the model features the bus's characteristic bright red color scheme, an open rear boarding platform, and a removable roof that reveals a detailed interior including the driver's cab and a spiral staircase.
Designed with an emphasis on authentic mechanical detailing, the set incorporates classic advertising posters from the 1950s and a reversible destination sign that allows builders to choose between different London routes. Upon its release, it was well-received by both casual enthusiasts and adult fans of LEGO for its historical accuracy and the complex building techniques employed to recreate the bus's rounded curves within the rigid geometry of standard bricks.
