Where it came from
Majisto's Magical Workshop, released in 2023, serves as a nostalgic tribute to the beloved Dragon Knights subtheme of the LEGO Castle series that debuted in 1993. This set was produced as a gift-with-purchase promotional item, designed to capture the aesthetic of the original 6048 Majisto's Magical Workshop. It mirrors the iconic blue-and-yellow color scheme and the specific architectural footprint of its predecessor, reflecting the 90s-era design philosophy that prioritized modular, fold-out structures.
The set was developed by the LEGO design team as part of an effort to celebrate the company's 90th anniversary and the enduring appeal of its classic castle themes. By shrinking the original workshop into a micro-scale format, the designers aimed to provide long-time enthusiasts with a desktop-sized homage that maintains the charm of the original build. The reception within the collector community was highly positive, praised for its faithful recreation of the classic Majisto minifigure and its ability to evoke a sense of playfulness and historical continuity.
