Where it came from
The LEGO City Passenger Airplane, set 60367-1, was released in 2023 as part of the long-running LEGO City Airport subtheme. Designed to provide a modern, realistic play experience, the set reflects contemporary aviation with its detailed terminal, ground support equipment, and accessible aircraft interior. The design focuses on playability, featuring a removable roof to allow children to interact with the cockpit and passenger cabin, while emphasizing the logistical side of airport operations through included support vehicles like a pushback tug, catering truck, and luggage cart.
The set was developed as a flagship offering for the City line, aimed at expanding the narrative possibilities for young builders by recreating the busy atmosphere of a functioning airport. LEGO designers prioritized modularity and functional play, ensuring that the ground crew vehicles could interact seamlessly with the airplane. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the theme for its comprehensive nature, which bundled a large aircraft with a substantial ground support ecosystem rather than requiring separate smaller sets to complete the scene.
