Where it came from
Released by the LEGO Group in 2023, the Play with Braille – French Alphabet set was developed as an educational tool to foster inclusive learning environments. The initiative stemmed from a collaboration with various blind associations worldwide, aiming to provide a tactile method for children with visual impairments to learn the Braille system alongside sighted peers through the universal language of brick building.
The set features 2x4 bricks that incorporate studs arranged to correspond to Braille numbers and letters, with printed characters also displayed on the pieces for double-modality learning. Designed under the guidance of accessibility experts, the set was received as a significant step toward social inclusion, earning praise for its practical pedagogical utility in both home and classroom settings.
