Where it came from
Released in 1995 as part of the LEGO City theme, the Police Buggy (set 951805-1) represents an era when LEGO focused on compact, utility-driven vehicles for its police sub-theme. Designed as an entry-level promotional polybag, the model was intended to provide a quick, accessible build that expanded the play potential of larger police station sets of the mid-1990s.
The aesthetic follows the classic design language of 1990s LEGO sets, utilizing a simple color palette of black, white, and blue, topped with a single translucent blue light brick. While modest in piece count, the design was well-received by fans for its inclusion of a specialized police minifigure and its ability to fit seamlessly into the established street layouts of the growing City line.
