Where it came from
The LEGO City Race Car set 60322 was released as part of the broader LEGO City product line, designed to introduce younger builders to the building system through a accessible, entry-level vehicle. As a 4+ set, its design prioritizes ease of assembly while maintaining a recognizable aesthetic, featuring a streamlined chassis, a simplified cockpit, and a stylized spoiler that mimics the look of professional endurance racing vehicles.
The set was conceptualized by the LEGO design team to serve as a gateway model, offering a satisfying build for children transitioning from Duplo to standard bricks. By utilizing a pre-molded starter brick base, the design ensures structural stability during play, a hallmark of the 4+ series. It was released to positive reception from parents and educators for its durability and its ability to foster fine motor skills through basic, intuitive construction.
