Republic Attack Gunship

Released in 2008, the LEGO Star Wars Republic Attack Gunship (7676) was inspired by the vehicle's prominent role in the animated film and television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It was designed to capture the heavy-duty utility of the LAAT/i gunship, featuring a modular interior that could transport a clone trooper speeder bike and a specialized deployment mechanism for the included troopers. This set was part of a wave of merchandise intended to synchronize with the launch of the new animated series, reflecting the shift in aesthetic and narrative focus toward the Prequel Era.

The set design team utilized a complex assembly of Technic components and traditional bricks to manage the weight of the large, sweeping wings and the articulated doors. It was well-received by collectors for its improved structural integrity compared to its 2002 predecessor and for the inclusion of multiple iconic figures, such as Plo Koon and Asajj Ventress.
