Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the LEGO Ninjago Legacy subtheme, this set was designed to celebrate the history of the long-running Ninjago franchise by reimagining classic concepts with updated build techniques. The set focuses on the core conflict between the protagonist Lloyd and his father, the antagonist Lord Garmadon, translating their elemental rivalry into a dynamic spinning toy format intended for both display and interactive play.
The design utilizes specialized spinner elements first popularized in the early Ninjago 'Spinjitzu' line, refined here with new weapon attachments and character-specific color palettes. Upon its release, the set was received as a nostalgic entry for long-term fans, offering an accessible way to obtain the updated minifigures of both central characters while highlighting the play-pattern evolution of the Ninjago theme over its decade-long history.
