It was part of the short-lived Galidor line, a multimedia franchise tied to a live-action television series of the same name. The set was designed to mimic the flexible, elastic nature of the character from the show, utilizing unique soft-plastic components that diverged significantly from the traditional hard ABS bricks that defined the brand's core identity.

The design of the Galidor figures was intended to allow for high degrees of articulation and dynamic posing, aiming to capture a younger demographic interested in action play. However, the line faced immediate challenges due to its aesthetic departure from the classic building system and the moderate commercial performance of the television series.
