SUV with Watercraft

Released in 2014 as part of the Lego City Great Vehicles subtheme, the SUV with Watercraft set was designed to capture a leisure-focused, outdoor-adventure aesthetic. This series was developed to expand the playability of the Lego City universe beyond standard urban structures, offering children vehicles that represented common recreational activities. The set features a rugged SUV capable of towing a trailer and a detachable watercraft, reflecting a push by the design team to introduce more variety into the range of transportable items available to city minifigures.

The design prioritizes playability through a modular approach, allowing the watercraft to be easily loaded and unloaded from the trailer. It was well-received by the community for its balance of simplicity and functionality, fitting seamlessly into existing town layouts. By focusing on everyday scenes, the designers created a accessible set that resonated with both children and adult collectors who appreciated the grounded, real-world utility of the build.
