Temple of Light

The Temple of Light, released in 2013 as part of the Lego Ninjago theme, serves as a pivotal narrative set concluding the rebooted Final Battle story arc. It represents the location where the ninja discover the four elemental blades, providing the power necessary to defeat the Overlord. The set was designed to capture a mystical, ancient aesthetic distinct from the more mechanical or fortress-style builds common in the Ninjago line, utilizing a color palette of gold, tan, and dark red to signify its significance within the lore.

The design of the temple focuses on interactive play features, such as the rotating sword stand and the trap door, which reflect the action-oriented nature of the Ninjago series at that time. It was created during a period where Lego designers were heavily integrating storytelling elements directly into the physical build to mirror the animated television show. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans for its inclusion of the exclusive Golden Ninja Lloyd minifigure, which remains a highly recognizable character design from the theme's history.
