Temple of Resurrection

The Temple of Resurrection (70643-1) was released by The Lego Group in 2018 as part of the Ninjago theme's 'Sons of Garmadon' story arc. Designed to represent the dark ritual site where the antagonists intended to resurrect Lord Garmadon, the set captures a distinct aesthetic shift toward architectural storytelling. The designers focused on interactive features, such as the trapdoor, falling axes, and the modular structure that reveals the resurrected villain, successfully bridging the gap between a display piece and an action-oriented playset.

The reception of the set was generally positive among builders, particularly for its innovative use of translucent red elements and its role as a centerpiece for the 2018 wave. Fans praised the inclusion of the Oni Masks and the specific character selection, which were integral to the season's narrative progression. The design team sought to evoke a gothic, menacing atmosphere that departed from traditional temple builds, solidifying its place as a significant set within the later years of the Ninjago product line.
