Where it came from
The Lighthouse Siege, released in 2016 as part of the Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu theme, was developed to anchor the narrative of the 'Skybound' story arc. The set represents a critical location from the season, designed to provide a modular play experience that features traps, a rotating light brick, and a small boat, reflecting the adventurous, high-fantasy tone of the Ninjago television series.
The design emphasizes the transition of the Ninjago aesthetic toward more intricate, location-based builds that prioritize interactive play features and structural complexity. As a mid-to-large-scale set, it was well-received by the building community for its effective use of vertical space and the inclusion of key minifigures like Nya and Jay, which served to tie the physical toy directly to the climactic onscreen conflicts of its era.
