Treasure Guard

Released in 1994 as part of the LEGO Castle theme under the sub-theme Dragon Knights, the Treasure Guard 6029-1 served as a modest entry-level set. It was designed during an era when LEGO sought to expand the narrative depth of its medieval series, introducing the Dragon Knights faction as a contrast to the long-standing Lion and Black Falcon knights. The set depicts a singular knight tasked with protecting a small hoard of gold, reflecting the brand's shift toward smaller, character-focused vignettes that could be easily integrated into larger castle layouts.

The design is characteristic of mid-90s LEGO sets, utilizing a straightforward build centered on a small stone-themed display area. The minifigure features the iconic dragon emblem on the torso, a hallmark of the faction's design language meant to evoke a more rugged, fantastical aesthetic. While the set was well-received by children for its playability and the inclusion of desirable accessories like the dragon-crested shield, it remains a nostalgic touchstone for collectors interested in the specific color palettes and figure designs that defined the mid-90s Castle era.
