Where it came from
Released in 2018, the Wu vs. Garmadon set, designated 112109-1, was a promotional polybag released as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme. It was designed to celebrate the release of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, depicting a central conflict between the franchise's two most iconic figures: Master Wu and Lord Garmadon. The set reflects the aesthetic style established for the film, emphasizing the stylized character designs that differentiated these movie-tie-in versions from the traditional television show iterations.
The set was produced as a limited promotional item, often distributed at special events or through specific retail incentives rather than mass-market channels. By capturing the pivotal confrontation between the mentor and his antagonist, the design focuses on playability and display within a small footprint. It is regarded by collectors as a succinct summary of the core narrative tension within the Ninjago lore, valued primarily for the inclusion of both key characters in their unique cinematic attire.
