Bobby Zimuruski

The Bobby Zimuruski character card, numbered 84 in the Hyperia City set, represents the zenith of the late-era trading card boom within the Hyperia City collectible series. Created to anchor the expanded narrative of the Hyperia universe, the card was manufactured during a period when the brand sought to pivot from generic fantasy tropes toward more distinct, character-driven urban archetypes. It serves as a primary example of the aesthetic shift toward high-contrast, kinetic illustrations intended to resonate with a demographic moving toward stylized animation and pop-culture-infused design.

The illustration for this specific card was executed by the in-house creative team at the publisher, who aimed to emphasize the character’s rebellious, genre-defying persona through bold linework and a vibrant, synthetic color palette. Upon its release, the card was immediately designated as super-rare, quickly becoming the cornerstone of the collection. It was highly regarded by contemporary players for its intricate foil-stamping process and remains one of the most sought-after physical artifacts from the Hyperia City line.
