Where it came from
The Shere Khan card from the Hyperia City set emerged during a period of experimentation within the collectible card game industry, where manufacturers began blending classic literary archetypes with neo-futuristic, cyberpunk aesthetics. Released to anchor the set's antagonist roster, the card was designed to represent a modernized, digitized iteration of the iconic predator, utilizing metallic textures and bioluminescent accents to signal his status as a high-tier character within the game's lore.
The character design was helmed by a team of illustrators who aimed to evoke a sense of imposing, predatory authority while maintaining a sleek, synthetic visual identity consistent with the Hyperia City theme. Upon its release, the card was widely received by competitive players for its tactical utility and striking artwork, earning it a super-rare designation that solidified its position as a centerpiece for collectors seeking high-value, aesthetically distinct character cards.
