Where it came from
Koda, a rare character card numbered 1 in the Shimmering Skies set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game, was released in 2024. The game was developed by Ravensburger to celebrate Disney's vast catalog of animated characters, positioning players as 'Illumineers' who use magical ink to summon companions and heroes. This card features Koda, the young bear cub from the 2003 film Brother Bear, depicted with an artistic style consistent with the game's immersive, painterly aesthetic.
The card was designed to integrate into the strategic framework of the Shimmering Skies expansion, which focused on the ethereal and sky-bound motifs of the Disney multiverse. As a rare card, it is sought after by both players looking to build specific character-based decks and collectors interested in the completion of the numbered set. The artwork, commissioned by Ravensburger to maintain a cohesive visual identity across the game, captures the character's inquisitive nature within the game's unique card layout.
