Where it came from
Overprune was introduced as a pivotal action card within the Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue set, a cooperative expansion for the Disney Lorcana trading card game. Released in the context of a specialized box set, it was designed to immerse players in a thematic narrative centered around the iconic Winnie the Pooh and his search for honey, moving beyond standard competitive play into a unique story-driven experience.
The card’s illustration was crafted to mirror the gentle, whimsical aesthetic of the Hundred Acre Wood, aligning with the artistic direction of the broader Lorcana project which emphasizes nostalgia and high-quality character art. As a special rarity card within the Quest format, it was conceived to serve as a tactical obstacle or interaction, aimed at rewarding players who engage with the cooperative mechanics of the Hunny Rescue expansion.
