Owen Burnett

Owen Burnett was released as part of the initial Hyperia City set, a series designed to establish the gritty, urban-noir atmosphere of the game's namesake setting. As a common character card, Burnett was conceived as a low-level narrative anchor, intended to represent the everyday citizens caught in the perpetual conflicts of the metropolis. His design aesthetic emphasizes functional, utilitarian clothing and a weary expression, aligning with the developers' goal of grounded, character-driven world-building rather than high-fantasy tropes.

The character design for the Hyperia City series was spearheaded by a small team of artists aiming to revitalize the card game market with a consistent, cohesive visual language. By choosing a muted color palette and leaning into architectural motifs, the illustrators sought to make the common tier cards feel like essential components of a larger, living story. Upon release, the set was noted by players for its technical consistency and for effectively using common-rarity cards like Burnett to build a sense of scale and realism within the broader game lore.
