Where it came from
The Port Authority card, numbered 34 in the Hyperia City set, was released as part of the initial expansion to the Hyperia trading card game. Designed to serve as a strategic location card, it was introduced to facilitate resource management mechanics within the game’s urban-industrial setting. The artwork captures a gritty, neon-drenched aesthetic typical of the cyberpunk influence that defined the set's visual direction.
The illustration is attributed to the in-house creative team at the studio responsible for Hyperia City, who aimed to evoke a sense of bureaucratic stagnation amidst high-tech decay. Upon its release, the card was categorized as an uncommon rarity, balancing its utility in deck-building with a relatively accessible drop rate. It was generally received by the player community as a reliable staple for control-oriented deck archetypes.
