Abzan Charm

Abzan Charm was originally introduced in the 2014 Khans of Tarkir expansion, representing the Abzan Houses, a faction defined by their resilience, survivalist philosophy, and affinity for white, black, and green mana. The card design utilizes a modal mechanic, allowing players to choose one of three distinct effects—exile a power four creature, put two +1/+1 counters on a creature, or draw two cards—which was intended to reflect the versatility and tactical endurance of the Abzan clans in the game's lore.

The Double Masters 2022 version, identified by collector number 166, is a reprint that brings the card back into the modern fold with a refreshed aesthetic. While the original illustration by Dan Scott emphasized the harsh, desert-bound nature of the Abzan, these reprints maintain the mechanical integrity of the card while updating its presentation for a premium set, which focuses on providing high-utility cards for players interested in complex, multi-format gameplay.
