Provenance

Where it came from

Access Tunnel was released in 2024 as part of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction Commander set. Designed for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, this utility land card fits into the broader thematic expansion centered on a frontier-fantasy aesthetic. It functions mechanically by allowing players to make a creature with power three or less unblockable, serving as a tactical tool for aggressive deck builds.

The card features artwork by artist Jason A. Engle, who leaned into the Western-inspired visual language of the set. The design reflects the 'outlaw' motif by depicting a clandestine passage through a rocky terrain, capturing the atmosphere of a lawless landscape. It was received as a functional addition to the Commander format, favored by players looking for reliable evasion tools for smaller utility creatures.
