Addle

Addle was released in 2000 as part of the Invasion expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, the Invasion set marked the beginning of a thematic trilogy centered on the Phyrexians' large-scale assault on the world of Dominaria, a major narrative arc in the game’s long-running lore. Mechanically, the card was designed as a blue sorcery, allowing players to choose a color and force opponents to discard a card of that chosen color, providing a strategic tool for hand disruption and information gathering.

The artwork was created by Ron Spears, an illustrator whose contributions to Magic: The Gathering during this era helped define the visual language of the game's high-fantasy aesthetic.
