Allosaurus Rider

Allosaurus Rider was originally released in the 2006 Coldsnap expansion, a set designed to evoke the mechanics and flavor of the long-lost Ice Age block. It was later reprinted as part of the 2014 Duel Decks Anthology, a commemorative collection that reissued the first four Duel Decks, including the fan-favorite Elves vs. Goblins set. This reprint served to make the card more accessible to players who wanted to experience the specific mechanical tension between the fast-paced, aggressive goblin strategies and the mana-ramp capabilities of elven tribal decks.

The card was illustrated by Dave Dorman, a celebrated artist known for his atmospheric, painterly style often seen in science fiction and fantasy works. Dorman intended to capture the primal ferocity of a prehistoric predator integrated into the mystical environment of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse.
