Ambitious Farmhand // Ambitious Farmhand

Ambitious Farmhand is a card from the Midnight Hunt Art Series, a promotional set released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021 to accompany the main Innistrad: Midnight Hunt expansion. These cards were designed as oversized, borderless collectibles featuring high-resolution artwork from the set, aimed at showcasing the illustrative work of Magic: The Gathering artists for display rather than standard competitive play.

The illustration for this piece was crafted by artist Caio Monteiro, who sought to capture the somber, gothic atmosphere inherent to the Innistrad plane. By focusing on the evocative, creature-focused aesthetic of the horror-themed expansion, the design highlights the narrative tension of the Farmhand as it transforms during the cycle of the moon. The series was well-received by collectors who prioritize the visual storytelling and artistry of the game's world-building.
