Where it came from
Aminatou's Augury was originally introduced in the Commander 2018 set to support the Miracle mechanic and the thematic focus on Aminatou, the Fateshifter. As a high-mana sorcery that rewards players for manipulating the top of their library, it reflects the deliberate, foresight-oriented gameplay associated with blue-aligned planeswalkers who focus on destiny and fate.
The card was reimagined for the Commander Masters set, featuring updated art that emphasizes the mystical and ephemeral nature of Aminatou’s influence. This reprint sought to bring the powerful utility of the card to a wider audience within the Commander format, maintaining the original design goal of providing a dramatic, game-altering payoff for players who strategically arrange their decks.
