What it does
At the beginning of your upkeep, reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a creature card. Until your next turn, this creature's base power becomes twice that card's power and its base toughness becomes twice that card's toughness. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Where it came from
Amplifire was released in 2019 as part of the Ravnica Allegiance expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The card was designed as a rare creature for the Gruul Clans, a faction centered on the plane of Ravnica known for its primal, chaotic, and aggressive nature. It embodies the faction's philosophy of channeling raw, natural power into destructive force, fitting into the game's mechanics by temporarily assuming the power and toughness of another creature from the player's library.
The artwork was created by illustrator Svetlin Velinov, who has contributed extensively to the visual identity of Magic: The Gathering. Velinov was tasked with depicting a creature that visually synthesizes the Gruul aesthetic of repurposed scrap and explosive magical energy. The illustration was received positively by players for its dynamic representation of the Gruul's affinity for chaotic enhancement, effectively translating the card's mechanical ability into a compelling visual narrative.
