Angel's Feather

Angel's Feather was originally introduced in the Magic: The Gathering core set cycle as part of a series of artifacts themed around creature types. Released in the Magic 2012 set, which marked the transition of the core set into a more flavorful, story-driven product, it serves as a life-gain utility card that triggers whenever a player casts a white spell. The design philosophy behind this cycle of feathers was to provide consistent, low-cost passive effects that rewarded players for staying within a specific color identity during deck construction.

The illustration for the Magic 2012 printing was crafted by artist Volkan Baga. Baga is well-regarded in the trading card community for his ability to blend traditional fantasy tropes with a clean, ethereal aesthetic that fits the high-fantasy nature of the game. The artwork depicts a glowing, singular white feather, emphasizing the angelic source of the item's power. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional, beginner-friendly tool, primarily valued by players exploring white-aligned strategies in limited formats.
