Provenance

Where it came from

Anger was released as part of the Secret Lair Drop Series, specifically featured in the 'Artist Series: Magali Villeneuve' drop. These limited-run, direct-to-consumer releases from Wizards of the Coast are designed to highlight specific artistic styles, offering alternate-art versions of iconic Magic: The Gathering cards that function within the game while serving as collectible pieces of expression.

The card features the distinct, ethereal illustrative style of Magali Villeneuve, a prominent artist in the fantasy genre known for her work on numerous Magic sets. Her interpretation of the creature Anger focuses on a high-fantasy, evocative depiction that diverges from the card's original look, aiming to provide a more refined and atmospheric aesthetic that resonates with fans of her long-standing contribution to the game’s visual identity.
