Where it came from
Anthem of Champions is a promotional iteration of a card originally introduced in the Magic: The Gathering set Morningtide in 2008. As part of the Foundations Promos, this specific version, numbered 116s, was issued to celebrate the game's broader accessibility and historical legacy, serving as a reprint that updates the card's visual presentation while maintaining its established role in tribal-focused deck strategies.
The card features artwork by the illustrator Volkan Baga, whose work is highly regarded in the Magic community for its intricate detail and fantasy aesthetic. The design focuses on the visual representation of a Kithkin-themed battlefield buff, emphasizing the camaraderie and strength inherent in the card's mechanical function of boosting creatures that share a creature type. Upon its original release and subsequent promotional iterations, the card was received as a staple for tribal decks, praised for its clarity and efficiency in play.
