Where it came from
Assemble the Legion was originally released in the 2013 Magic: The Gathering expansion Gatecrash. It was designed to represent the flavor of the Boros Legion, a military force on the plane of Ravnica known for its rigid hierarchy and commitment to collective justice. The card was crafted to mechanically mirror this theme, creating an escalating army of tokens that grows in strength over time.
The Fallout version, numbered 474, was released in 2024 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Fallout Commander decks. This iteration re-skins the original card to fit the post-apocalyptic aesthetic of the Fallout franchise, while maintaining the same rules text. The artwork for this specific printing adapts the mechanical theme to the context of the series, reflecting the faction-based structure central to the wasteland experience.
