Bar Entry

Bar Entry is a card from the 2022 Magic: The Gathering set Unfinity, the fourth installment in the franchise's long-running Un-series. These sets are designed for casual, silver-bordered gameplay that prioritizes humor, unconventional mechanics, and playful subversions of standard game rules. The card was specifically designed to incorporate the set's space-carnival aesthetic, encouraging players to engage with the card's narrative flavor and interactive, meta-game elements.

The card was illustrated by Scott Okumura, who leaned into the retro-futuristic, whimsical visual language defining the set. By depicting a scene that interacts with the player's physical environment, the design emphasizes the lighthearted nature of the Un-series. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a novelty piece for drafting and kitchen-table play, fulfilling the creative team's goal of expanding the boundaries of how a card can function within a game.
