Provenance

Where it came from

The Boggart Ram-Gang card was released as a foil promotional card through the DCI (Duelists' Convocation International) program, specifically distributed to participants of Friday Night Magic events in May 2008. As a member of the Shadowmoor set, the card reflects the dark, twisted faerie folklore aesthetic that defined the block, showcasing the creature's aggressive, tribal nature within the world of Lorwyn's corrupted reflection.

The artwork for this particular iteration was created by Jesper Ejsing, a prolific illustrator known for his dynamic and textured style. Ejsing's depiction focuses on the frenetic energy and menace of the red-green goblin archetype, utilizing a jagged, visceral composition that aligned with the card's 'wither' mechanic. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its efficiency in aggressive deck archetypes, cementing its status as a staple for tournament-level play during its tenure in the Standard format.
