Brazen Borrower // Petty Theft

Brazen Borrower was originally released in the 2019 set Throne of Eldraine as part of a cycle of adventure cards, which allowed players to cast an instant or sorcery before later playing the creature itself. The card design leans into the fairytale aesthetic of the set, drawing inspiration from high-fantasy tropes while introducing a clever mechanical versatility that made it a staple in competitive formats like Standard and Modern.

The artwork for this specific reprint, featuring the art by Pauline Voss, was included in the Wilds of Eldraine Commander set. The design continues the narrative theme of Eldraine's mischievous fae folk, with Voss utilizing a whimsical yet sharp illustrative style that emphasizes the character's role as a petty thief. Upon its introduction, the card was well-received by players for its efficient mana cost and board utility, cementing its status as an iconic piece of modern card design.
