Where it came from
Call for Unity is a card from the Aether Revolt expansion of Magic: The Gathering, released in early 2017. As part of the Aether Revolt Promos, this specific version was distributed as a participation reward for players attending official release events at local game stores. The card features a unique art treatment intended to celebrate the set's themes of rebellion against the ruling Consulate in the world of Kaladesh.
The artwork for this promotional version was illustrated by Magali Villeneuve, a prominent artist in the Magic: The Gathering community. Villeneuve’s design aimed to capture the essence of collaborative resistance, focusing on the rallying cry of the card's namesake. While the base version of the card was available in standard expansion boosters, this promotional iteration is recognized by its distinct collector number and set symbol, serving as a commemorative piece for the expansion's debut.
