Chandra's Ignition

Chandra's Ignition was first introduced to the Magic: The Gathering card game in the Magic Origins set, designed as a powerful sorcery reflecting the pyromancer Chandra Nalaar’s explosive magical prowess. The card mechanically captures her character's volatility, dealing damage to creatures and opponents alike based on a creature's power. It became a staple in Commander formats, where its ability to clear boards while dealing massive damage often serves as a late-game win condition.

This specific iteration, collector number 1594, was released as part of a Secret Lair drop, a curated series of cards featuring specialized, artistic treatments. The Secret Lair program was developed by Wizards of the Coast to offer collectors unique aesthetic variants, often collaborating with artists outside the traditional card game pipeline to reimagine iconic spells. The design for this version focuses on high-contrast, stylized interpretations of Chandra, moving away from standard set art to provide a distinct, collectible experience for players who value visual flair.
