Charging Binox

Charging Binox was released in 2018 as part of Battlebond, a Magic: The Gathering set uniquely designed for the Two-Headed Giant multiplayer format. The set focused on themes of gladiatorial combat and cooperative team play, with the cards intentionally crafted to reward synergy between partners. As a common creature, the Binox was created to populate the limited draft environment, providing a functional, aggressive presence that fit the set's high-energy, arena-inspired narrative.

The card’s visual aesthetic was realized by artist Jason Felix, who utilized his signature digital style to depict the creature as a menacing, bulky beast suited for the chaos of the arena. Felix focused on emphasizing the creature's armored, predatory physiology to convey its role as a physical threat. Upon its debut, the card was received as a solid, standard-issue draft common, valued by players for its straightforward role in building a deck’s offensive pressure during the Battlebond limited experience.
