Where it came from
Chatter of the Squirrel is a card released as part of the Secret Lair Drop Series, specifically featured in the '90s Binder Experience drop released by Wizards of the Coast. The card is a functional reprint of the original Chatter of the Squirrel, an enchantment from the Odyssey expansion that played into the squirrel-themed tribal mechanics popular in early Magic: The Gathering history.
The artwork for this specific iteration was provided by Aitch, who utilized a distinct, nostalgic aesthetic intended to evoke the feel of school-age trading card binders from the late 1990s. The design intentionally leans into lo-fi, hand-drawn sensibilities, contrasting with the high-fantasy polish of modern standard-set cards to appeal to collectors who value the specific cultural iconography of 90s gaming culture.
