Chatterfang, Squirrel General // Chatterfang, Squirrel General

Chatterfang, Squirrel General was originally designed as a legendary creature for the Modern Horizons 2 expansion, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021. The card was crafted to support and expand upon the popular squirrel-themed tribe within Magic: The Gathering, providing a complex mechanical engine that allows players to generate and sacrifice squirrel tokens. Its design centers on the synergy between battlefield presence and resource management, reflecting the set's focus on high-complexity interactions and nostalgic callbacks to niche mechanics from the game's long history.

The Art Series version of this card features the original illustration by Wisnutanu B. Sasongko, who utilized a vivid, whimsical style to depict the character as a formidable yet distinctively squirrel-like leader. This specific Art Series iteration, marked as number 67s, was produced as a premium collectible card intended to showcase the artwork without the standard framing of a functional game card. Within the community, these cards were received as a celebration of the creative talent behind the game, often sought after by players who appreciate the visual narrative and the expanded lore of characters like Chatterfang.
