Where it came from
Cursed Mirror was introduced in the 2024 Magic: The Gathering set Foundations, specifically within the Commander expansion. It serves as a utility artifact designed to provide players with a versatile clone effect, allowing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature on the field while providing a temporary mana-acceleration benefit.
The card’s visual design reflects the gothic and dark fantasy aesthetics often associated with powerful, transformative artifacts in the game's multiverse. It was illustrated by artist Wisnu Tan, who utilized a shimmering, unsettling art style to evoke the sense of a magical object capable of twisting reality and mimicry.
