Where it came from
Devastating Onslaught, assigned the collector number 132p, was released as part of the Edge of Eternities expansion's promotional cycle. Designed to bolster the aggressive archetypes within the set, the card was distributed through organized play events and tournament support kits. Its mechanics reflect a deliberate shift in the game's meta toward high-impact, late-game board clears that reward players for strategic resource management.
The card’s visual direction was overseen by the studio’s art team, emphasizing the chaotic aesthetic central to the Edge of Eternities storyline. By utilizing bold, saturated color palettes and kinetic linework, the illustrators intended to capture the sensation of a localized collapse in the game's lore. Upon its release, players and collectors noted its utility in draft environments, solidifying its place as a recognizable staple of the set's competitive landscape.
