Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius // Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius

Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius is part of the Art Series released within the Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2024. These cards are distinct from standard gameplay components, as they serve as high-quality, frame-less reproductions of the original digital illustrations used for the set's primary cards. They are typically found in collector booster packs, intended for fans who wish to display the thematic artistry of the game's expansive multiverse.

The illustration for this card was created by artist Livia Prima, who rendered the character to emphasize a rugged, scholarly aesthetic fitting the set's western-fantasy theme. By stripping away the text boxes and card borders, the Art Series allows the technical brushwork and composition to stand as an independent piece of tabletop media. Upon release, these prints were well-received by the collecting community for their gallery-like presentation, often serving as entry-level collectibles for those interested in contemporary fantasy illustration.
