Provenance

Where it came from

The Stingerback Terror Art Series card was released in 2024 as part of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction set for Magic: The Gathering. These cards are distributed through collector boosters as a showcase for the game's high-fantasy western aesthetic, serving as a dedicated collectible for players who appreciate the visual narrative behind the set's creature designs.

The artwork, illustrated by Greg Staples, captures the rugged and dangerous tone of the Thunder Junction plane. Staples, a long-time contributor to the game, focuses on dynamic lighting and intricate creature details to emphasize the menace of the Stingerback Terror, a design choice intended to ground the creature within the lawless, frontier-inspired environment of the expansion.
