Provenance

Where it came from

The Dragonspeaker Shaman card for the 2025 Wizards Play Network series serves as a promotional reprint within the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem. These cards are distributed through local game stores as rewards for participation in community events, emphasizing the social aspect of the game. The card features the signature ability to reduce the casting cost of dragon spells, a mechanic that has made it a staple in tribal-themed decks since its original debut in the Scourge set.

The 2025 iteration utilizes updated frame styling while retaining the core aesthetic identity of the character. The illustration focuses on the shamanistic imagery central to the creature type, designed to appeal to both long-time players who value the utility of the card and new collectors interested in the distinct promotional art style that distinguishes these Wizards Play Network releases from standard expansion printings.
