When this creature enters, create a Food token. (It's an artifact with "2 generic mana, tap, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")
Whenever you sacrifice a Food, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. If you search your library this way, put this creature on the bottom of its owner's library, then shuffle.

Where it came from
The Unlucky Cabbage Merchant card was released as part of the Wizards Play Network 2025 promotional set, designed to celebrate the enduring popularity of the Avatar: The Last Legend franchise within the tabletop gaming community. The card serves as a whimsical nod to the recurring gag from the series, featuring the long-suffering merchant who famously laments the destruction of his wares. Its inclusion reflects a broader strategy by Wizards of the Coast to integrate iconic cultural touchstones into their promotional card offerings, appealing to fans who appreciate the blend of humor and tactical gameplay.
The illustration was crafted to capture the essence of the original animation's aesthetic, utilizing a vibrant color palette and expressive character design to evoke the merchant's signature frustration. It was received warmly by the community as a lighthearted collector's piece that balances the mechanical depth of the game with the nostalgic humor of the source material. By maintaining a faithful visual style, the design successfully bridges the gap between traditional card game artistry and the character-driven narrative of the original show.
