Eldrazi Skyspawner

Eldrazi Skyspawner was originally printed as a common creature in the 2015 Magic: The Gathering expansion Battle for Zendikar. The set focused on the return of the Eldrazi, otherworldly entities that consume worlds, and the card was designed to demonstrate their influence on the landscape of the plane Zendikar. Mechanically, it represented the Eldrazi's ability to spawn smaller drones, providing both a flying threat and additional resources for the player.

The card features artwork by Clint Cearley, who utilized a surreal, biomechanical aesthetic to convey the alien nature of the Eldrazi brood. Within the game's competitive environment, the card became widely recognized as a staple of the 'Limited' draft format due to its efficiency and utility. The inclusion of this specific printing in 'The List'—a recurring set of reprints curated by Wizards of the Coast for inclusion in Set Boosters—serves as a nod to its popularity and functional design during the Battle for Zendikar era.
