Elk

The Elk token, numbered 13 in the Outlaws of Thunder Junction set, was released in April 2024 as part of Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Tokens are distinct from standard cards in that they are created by the effects of other cards during gameplay rather than being included in a player's starting deck. This particular token features a western-themed aesthetic consistent with the set's setting, which blends traditional high fantasy with classic tropes of the American frontier.

The visual design of the token reflects the set's focus on outlaws, bounty hunters, and rugged wilderness. While Magic tokens are produced by an internal team of artists and art directors to ensure stylistic cohesion, this specific iteration was crafted to complement the set's unique expansion mechanics. It received a standard reception from the player community, serving as a functional utility piece for those utilizing cards like Oko, Thief of Crowns or similar effects that transform non-creature permanents into elks.
