The Erhnam Djinn was originally released as a rare card in the 1994 Magic: The Gathering set 'Arabian Nights,' the game's first expansion. Designed by Richard Garfield and illustrated by Anson Maddocks, the creature became a cornerstone of competitive play during the mid-nineties. Its high power-to-mana cost ratio, balanced by the unique drawback of granting forestwalk to opponents' creatures, established it as a defining card of the 'Green-White ErhnamGeddon' archetype, which combined the Djinn's offensive pressure with the land-destruction effects of Armageddon.

The version from the Pro Tour Collector Set, designated as card pp64, was part of a limited-run boxed set released by Wizards of the Coast in the late 1990s.
