Where it came from
Eternity Snare was released as part of the Jumpstart 2022 set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set was designed to provide a self-contained, theme-based play experience, where players shuffle two randomized packs together to form a deck. This specific card was introduced to support blue-aligned tempo strategies, utilizing an enchantment-based removal mechanic that fits the set's focus on accessible, synergized gameplay.
The card features illustration by Wisnu Tan, who rendered the subject with a focus on fluid, ethereal aesthetics consistent with modern Magic art direction. Within the context of the game, Eternity Snare is categorized as a common card. It was designed to function primarily within the Jumpstart limited format, providing players with a straightforward way to interact with their opponent's creatures while maintaining the thematic cohesion of the blue-aligned packets in which it appears.
